Overview

Foodie. ("we", "us", or "our") is a restaurant discovery and journaling app built to help you find, save, and remember great restaurants. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Foodie.:

Account information — your email address, display name, username, and profile photo when you create an account
Food preferences — favorite cuisine, spice tolerance, dietary preferences, and other preferences you choose to share
Restaurant data — restaurants you save, personal ratings and reviews you write, and photos you upload from your visits
Location data — your approximate location when you use the Discover feature, used only to find nearby restaurants
Usage data — basic app interactions to help us improve the experience

How We Use Your Information

To provide the core Foodie. service — saving restaurants, showing recommendations, and displaying your journal
To authenticate your account securely via Apple Sign In or Google Sign In
To improve app performance and fix bugs
We do not use your data for advertising purposes
We do not sell your data to third parties

Third Party Services

Foodie. uses the following third party services to operate:

Supabase — securely stores your account information, saved restaurants, reviews, and photos
Yelp Fusion API — provides restaurant search results and business information
Apple Sign In — optional authentication method
Google Sign In — optional authentication method

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure. Photos you upload are stored in secure cloud storage. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Your Rights

Access — you can view all your data within the app at any time
Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile tab in the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Export — contact us at hritish@hpfoodie.com to request a copy of your data

Children's Privacy

Foodie. is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Foodie. ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Foodie.. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
You must provide accurate information when creating your account
You may not use another person's account without permission

User Content

Foodie. allows you to post reviews, ratings, and photos ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you agree that:

You own or have the rights to the content you post
Your content does not violate any third party rights
Your content is accurate and not misleading
You will not post offensive, hateful, or illegal content

You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting it, you grant Foodie. a limited license to display it within the app.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use Foodie. to:

Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Post false, misleading, or defamatory reviews
Attempt to reverse engineer or hack the app
Use the app for any commercial purpose without our written consent
Harass, abuse, or harm other users

Restaurant Information

Restaurant information displayed in Foodie. is sourced from Yelp and may not always be accurate or up to date. Hours, addresses, phone numbers, and menu information can change. Always verify details directly with the restaurant before visiting.

Intellectual Property

The Foodie. app, including its design, logo, and code, is owned by Hritish Bhargava. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without written permission. Restaurant data is provided by Yelp under their terms of service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Foodie. is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that restaurant information will always be accurate.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foodie. and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
